OOTD: Winter look with Tribal Skirt

Hey girls I thought I’d share with you my OOTD technically I wore this yesterday but oh well I wanted to post this to show you girls cause I thought it was super cute.
This was the outfit basically a skirt with a basic shirt and tights.
(Sorry the photo is turned computer wouldn’t let me rotate it for some reason) Anyways the skirt is a tribal print skirt with a tie belt and beads on the strings of the belt. It is made out of a sweater like material so it is perfect for winter. I purchased the skirt from Rue 21 for $21.99, it isn’t available on the website but it is available in stores. I paired it with a basic pair of medium grey thin tights.
The shirt was also purchased from Rue 21 for $12.99. It is just a basig grey long sleeve scoopneck which I tucked into the skirt. I layered a basic cami underneath because the shirt is a bit see-through.
I wore these old booties I had with the outfit. I don't remember where they are from and yes they are very worn. Lastly for accesories I wore my fake diamond heart earings from Forever 21 and a black gem bracelet and two black bangles and a turquoise bangle.

Review: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips

Sally Hanson Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (around $9 for 16 strips) are nail strips made from real nail polish. The strips come in a variety of colors and designs. I so far have tried the Bling It On and Kitty, Kitty designs. But there are plenty to choose from for every taste.
I think that these nail strips look absolutely fantastic. They wear fabulously, the company claims they last up to ten days but I have found they last even longer, about 14 days. The only complaint is they are hard to match to your nail size so you have to use the cuticle stick to cut the edges and match it to the form of your nail. They also tend to chip at the top, but this does not pose a huge problem, I usually just clip my nails to keep them looking fresh. After wearing them for two weeks they are not even chipped, the problem is they grow up with your natural nail therefore the wear time is different for each person depending on the rate of your nail growth. They are easily removed with a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover.

These nail strips can be bought at almost any drugstore or beauty supply store. I suggest purchasing them from Walgreen’s because they sell 2 for $12.22. Whereas the retail other places for around $9.
Overall thoughts: I would rate this product at 9/10. The color is vibrant and doesn’t fade and it has a smooth texture. It lasts much longer than a normal nail polish. Though it can be a bit tedious to apply. (Takes about a half hour to do both hands.) The packaging is concise and supplies directions inside. Inside it contains the 16 strips as well as a direction booklet, nail file/buffer, and cuticle stick. This product is well worth the purchase. It is inexpensive, easy, and looks fabulous.

Today's Video: Bathroom Storage Idea

Hey girls so I know we all wish we had more space for our toiletries and accessories. Why not get a shoe holder that doesn’t take up any space (except the back of a door) and looks super stylish. It definitely adds a great touch to your bathroom.
This shoe holder will become your new best friend in the bathroom. It provides simple storage for all hair, makeup, and bathroom items you may have. It helps eliminate a mess by hiding everything behind a door in a stylish holder.
It is a truly unique storage idea, and all your friends will wonder why they hadn’t thought of it before. It functions as both a decoration and a storage unit. It can even store your shower goodies!

Health Help: Holiday Eating

Hey girls now I now we all eat horribly over the holiday season and it can be hard to maintain your weight. But here are a few tips to help you out as Christmas approaches.
1)      Exercise:              No more excuses about not having enough time to exercise, most people have time off from work or school during the holiday season so it is the perfect time to hit the gym.
2)      Don’t try to diet:              Realize that you will be eating a lot during this month so don’t decide to start a strict diet now, it just isn’t realistic.
3)      Socialize:             At get to gathers try and focus more on catching up with old friends and relatives, than hovering over the snack table.
4)      Make a list:         Decide on what you are going to eat ahead of time. Decide what to not eat and what you will allow yourself to eat. Also decide on portions.
5)      Avoid buffet:     Fill up on Hors d’Oeuvres which tend to be a lower calorie count and healthier than the buffet foods.
Hope these tips help! And keep an eye out for some healthy holiday food ideas.

Countdown to Christmas

So now that the turkey is gone it is time to start counting down to Christmas. There are only three more days until the official countdown to Christmas starts. So I thought I would share some great festive ideas to try for the month of December’s countdown.
24 days til Christmas: Start off the Christmas countdown by getting a children’s coloring book and coloring some festive pictures. These will make great decorations for around the house and hey, who doesn’t like to color?:)
23 days til Christmas:     Ask all friends and relatives what they want for Christmas and make a list. This way you can bring the list around with you when shopping and know exactly what to get for each person.
22 days til Christmas:     Go get a Christmas tree! I don’t get mine until December third because the needles tend to fall off if you get it to soon.
21 days til Christmas:     Build a ginger bread house. This is a great activity for any one of any age and a delicious one toJ
20 days til Christmas:     Make your Christmas cards, that way all you have to do when it is closer to Christmas is mail them out; this alleviates a lot of stress.
19 days til Christmas:     Movie night! Watch some Christmas movies with a big bowl of popcorn and a cup of hot coco. ABC Family has great Christmas movies that run all season long.
18 days til Christmas:     Decorate the tree. Now that the tree has had a few days to settle toss in a Christmas CD, pour some eggnog, and get to decorating.
17 days til Christmas:     Read some Christmas stories. Snuggle up by the Christmas tree with a few childhood favorites a cup of hot cider and get carried away to the magical North Pole.
16 days til Christmas:     Make a personalized ornament for your tree.
15 days til Christmas:     Wrap all your presents and set them under the Christmas tree.
14 days til Christmas:     Start your Christmas baking by spending the day making all sorts of festive cookies.
13 days til Christmas:     Go to a local mall and get a photo with Santa. You’re never to old!
12 days til Christmas:     By now everyone has Christmas decorations up so take a ride around your neighborhood at night to look at all the magical lights.
11 days til Christmas:     Eat a picnic dinner by the lit tree.
10 days til Christmas:     Make some Christmas crafts to add that final touch to your house.
9 days til Christmas:       Make the rest of your Christmas deserts.
8 days til Christmas:       Make paper snowflakes to hang around the house!
7 days til Christmas:       Help those in need by donating gifts or food to a local shelter.
6 days til Christmas:       Make Christmas phone calls to relatives or friends you won’t see this holiday.
5 days til Christmas:       Set out your stockings by the fire.
4 days til Christmas:       Go see a local nativity scene or Christmas play.
3 days til Christmas:       Make reindeer food! (Glitter + oats)
2 days til Christmas:       Finish your Christmas baking and do your Christmas cooking. Bring some baked goods to neighbors, family, and friends.
1 day til Christmas:         Make all final preparations for the big day. Don’t forget cookies for Santa!

Hope you try these ideas. Keep an eye out each day I will be posting more details about the ideas in my Countdown to Christmas!

Fall Lip Colors

Hey girls so fall is one of the biggest seasons to wear fun lip colors. But what shades exactly? Well I'm going to let you know the biggest fall lipstick trends this year. I'll also share which shades to wear depending on your skin tone.
     Nudes:
One of the trends for fall lip colors that never goes out of style are nude lips (my personal favorite). If you are of a darker or tan complexion try a brown lipstick for a neutral sheen; such as NARS Mindgame. For very pale complexions opt for a pastel coral color; such as Yves Saint Laurent 30 Faubourg Pink. And for light to medium olive skin tones opt for a sheer peachy pink; such as Dior Addict Lipstick in Tokyo 422.
     Bolds:
Now on to everyone’s favorite part of Fall makeup, the bold lipsticks. These lipsticks can be rocked by anybody in my opinion. Of course the number one bold color for fall is a true red lipstick; I recommend Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense 8 which is a true matte bright red. If you aren't brave enough to rock a super bright red lip perhaps opt for a medium red such as Rouge G de Guerlain Jewel Lipstick Compact in Gina 20 which is a more golden red. If you’re like me and you love pink lips and are disappointed that it is fall and not exactly the time to rock a pink lip try a reddish pink lipstick; NARS Heatwave is my personal favorite. The next trend I have seen a lot is wearing a dark plum lipstick around the outer lip with a red in the center to really accentuate the lips. To achieve this lip start with Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense in 44 applying it to your entire upper lip and only the outer corner and very edge of bottom lip. Then fill in the center of your bottom lip with a bright red such as Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense in 8. If you’re super brave you can try a bright orange lip or bold purple, which are super in for fall, but not something many would dare to wear.

Well I hope you girls found this helpfulJ And just a reminder all makeup products mentioned can be found online at Sephora.com
